A Campfire Made Out of LED Blocks
An interactive Dark Matter Berlin inspired 3D light installation featuring minimalist glowing timber LED modules, procedural wood sap pops, and real-time flame dynamics.

I've seen something like it at Dark Matter, Berlin. It was one of my favourite things, and I thought about it a lot since. Imagine a warm, cozy LED glow as you sit on a recliner. Future of indoor fireplaces.
Music controlled lights
Simple idea. You have music playing, the lights respond to the beat, the warmth of the tone, etc. How can we visualise musical dimensions with a LED's parameters?
A torch pattern attachment
I imagine it's not so easy, because torches have multiple sources of light, but lets keep it simple. Remember these cheap 'laser' pointers from early 2000s (I don't remember much before 2000) that had shape attachments? We can manufacture custom ones, maybe.
Light puzzle
Imagine multiple light sources overlapping to produce a pattern on a surface. It must be possible to make something more interesting than physics instruction video. I am thinking that shape puzzle, Tangram, but with lights.
Interior design lighting
It's hard to appreciate the light as the Scandinavians do, and it's sad to live in a badly lit room. AI can't solve the problem fully, it may not know where the cables go, but it may understand how to light a room slightly better for you to imagine it yourself.
How It Was Built With AI in 3.0 Hours
Step 1
Built the basic idea around a more detailed prompt
Step 2
Lots of adjusting the behaviour: menu looking like AI slop, overall UI bad decisions, music, behaviour of the fire
Step 3
Adding keyboard controls
Step 4
Tried to introduce gravity and collisions, decided against it
Step 5
Improving presets and few more controls for flame simulation
Bonus
Generated a guide to turning this design physical
What Rocked
- ✓The implementation of the light adjustments was really good on first attempt.
- ✓The presets actually look not dissimilar from a campfire
What Broke & Fixed
- ✗Physics were not very good to work with.
- ✗The first attempt resulted in a pitch black screen, so I didn't know if it works or just looks like that.
